SmartHarmo is Integri Marine's advanced marine energy-efficiency solution that combines power quality assessment, harmonic mitigation, power factor correction, load balancing, and voltage stabilisation. It reduces energy losses on board, protects sensitive marine electrical equipment, lowers fuel consumption, and ensures compliance with IEEE 519 and IEC 61000 power quality standards — suitable for both newbuild integration and retrofit applications.

Harmonics on ships are caused by non-linear electrical loads such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), converters, UPS systems, and power electronics used in propulsion and deck machinery. Uncorrected harmonics cause overheating of cables and transformers, increased neutral current, tripping of protection relays, degraded power quality, and premature equipment failure. SmartHarmo's Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) suppress harmonic currents in real time, reducing Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) to below IEEE 519 limits.

Power Factor Correction improves the ratio of real power (kW) consumed to apparent power (kVA) drawn from the generator. A low power factor means the generator must supply more current for the same useful work — increasing fuel burn, reducing generator capacity, and shortening equipment life. SmartHarmo's PFC panels and active VAR compensation bring power factor close to unity, reducing reactive power demand, improving generator efficiency, and lowering vessel fuel consumption.

Yes. SmartHarmo is specifically designed for both newbuild integration and retrofit installation on existing vessels. Integri Marine performs a power quality audit on board first to identify root causes of poor power quality, then engineers a tailored solution — which may include Active Harmonic Filters, Power Factor Correction panels, Static Voltage Stabilisers, or a combination — and installs and commissions the equipment with minimum disruption to vessel operations.
